Now maybe the Civil War can end.

Pamela Viola
As a child in the 1960's I was raised to believe that racial and gender discrimination no longer exist in the United States. As an adult, I discovered that simply isn't true.

In 2000, while production managing the movie "Hannibal" in Richmond, VA I was struck by how often articles about the Civil War grace the front page of the local newspaper. As a northerner my reaction was "we won the war, you lost, get over it!"

Thomas Friedman, in today's New York Times, declared that with the election of Barack Hussein Obama "The Civil War is over. Let reconstruction begin." Amen.
